iOS app won't accept password for GenieGo

I've decided to post this problem here since the phone technical team can't solve the problem. I have a second generation GenieGo which is properly setup on our home network. We have two Mac clients installed can connect and stream in home and out of home. The iPhone GenieGo app connects appropriately and streams in and out of home.

 

The Directv iPad app is a different story. The top level log in to our account works fine and both of our receivers show up properly. The playlist on the DVR is displayed properly. To stream the app asks if we have a geeing. After replying yes, it does the "searching for geniego dialog" and then says that for security reasons I need to enter my password. After entering our directv account password another dialog box pops up that says the password is incorrect. Tried dozens of times, carefully typing and watching each character during input. The password is correctly entered (yes, case is correct on all letters). Just can't get past the requirement for a password and it won't accept our correct password.

 

The directv help desk said that I needed to call the web department to have them check my password but I don't have a password problem. The password works appropriately to access our account on the web, on all clients, including the initial setup of the directv app on iOS. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling.
